Pheonix Wright: Ace Attourney follows the career of Pheonix Wright, a defense attourney just starting out. The player goes through two stages, trial and investigation.
The investigation stage is first. As Wright, you move through different areas, collecting evidence, talking to witnesses, and piecing together the actual events. Occasionally Wright employs investigative tools like fingerprinting gear and luminol.
The second stage is the trial. Wright's job during the trial is to present evidence and examine testimony in order to prove his client's innocence. This is done through finding contradictions in testimony and presenting evidence to uncover the true culprit. Wright has five chances to get it right. After five wrong answers, the beginning of that day's trial begins again.
