RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is the second of three games that have so far come out in the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. The player plays as a theme park manager, designer, and owner. The player must run the park, purchasing various stands and rides to keep the customers' needs fulfilled. These stands include bathrooms, information kiosks, food and drink stands, and souvenir stands. These stands have to have their prices adjusted periodically in order to make money.
On main feature of this game is the building of the Roller Coasters. Roller coasters in this game are fully customizable, and the players can ride them when they are completed. They can actually build the coaster piece by piece. The player can decorate and customize the park with a theme. The park also comes with pre-made roller coasters and rides.
Buying these stands and rides costs money, which is what entrance fees and the various stands are for.
